letter to present to Shaw’s that requests a gift card which can be used to purchase a
cake.

  • Contact Debbie at Hackett’s for donation of apples
  • Contact Steve Davis at CSD for food and grills
  • Adjust volunteer schedule by 15 minutes earlier to have more food ready in advance
  • Assign two parents to bring cake knives and preslice cakes as people are ready to serve themselves
  • Announcement should include reminder to bring blankets and chairs, and that the rain location is CHS cafeteria.

4. Insurance for PTA officers – reaching out to agents

5. Treasurer’s report – the bank account is expected to be set up over the summer

6. Principal’s report

  •     Colchester Night at the Lake Monsters is on Thursday, 6/20 at 7:05.
  •     Field day is Thursday, June 13 at Bombardier Park in Milton
  •     Step up day is on the last day of school

7. In September, a secretary can be elected and committees can be formed (e.g. special
events, marketing, and fundraising). Discussion about continuing the blog or moving
minutes back to the school website and use UMS Newsletter/Facebook

8. Fundraiser

  • Brady will connect with Lila Ortuno (parent of a rising 1st grader) about chairing fall fundraiser and contacting Red Barn to run a Meadow Farms fundraiser
  • Beltrami portrait fundraiser was successful and will be scheduled for Fall 2010
  • Buy Local app can be coordinated through Red Barn
  • Once the PTA has filed for 501(c)3, UMS PTA can have an Amazon Smile account

9. We need someone to volunteer for yearbook. The contract is signed for 2020. Remind
families as early as the picnic to send photos from school events to the yearbook;
remind parents about resolution and don’t resize. Layout begins when school pictures
are received. Time commitment is roughly 16 hours over the course of the year: 12
hours over one weekend and an occasional hour here and there for promotion,
reminders, and finishing final pages at the end of the timeline. Best to be completed by
one person because there is a single login, but a committee could help with marketing
and reviewing images received in the Google account.

10. Returning members meeting is August 20 at 6:30 at McGillicuddy’s in Colchester and
discuss managing roster of members

Adjourned at 7:35 pm
